Snow will continue across the higher elevations of southeastern Kentucky overnight tonight, delivering another one to two inches of snow near the Virginia Line before the snow showers taper to flurries early on Friday. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for Harlan, Letcher and Pike Counties until 4 AM. Meanwhile, across central Kentucky, temperatures will fall to 20 degrees as the occasional snow shower or flurry passes through. No significant accumulations should occur in central KY. Friday should feature partly sunny skies and a few flurries in the east. Highs will be near 35. The giant, weakening low pressure system across the Northeast will shift a hair west, pushing the western edge of clouds back across Kentucky on Saturday. Another round of snow showers will become likely on Saturday across the entire region. Accumulations, if any, should be light. Highs will be near 37. A few very light rain or snow showers should occur on Sunday under mostly cloudy skies. Highs will be near 40 degrees. Occasional light rain or snow showers will linger into Monday, especially in eastern Kentucky. Highs will be near 41 degrees. A storm crossing the Deep South will produce additional cloud cover on Tuesday. Snow showers will become likely, especially in southern and southeastern Kentucky. Tuesday's high will be near 39 degrees in Lexington. A few flurries may linger into Wednesday, primarily in eastern Kentucky. Highs will be near 40 degrees. High pressure and MILDER WEATHER should return for Thursday. While we're still likely to be colder than average, partly sunny skies and a high of 45 may well be the "pick of the week." Geoff
