An effort is underway to expand the reach of the Lexington smoking ban.

Council Member David Stephens is suggesting the smoking ban should not be limited to bars, restaurants and most businesses open to the general public.

He believes it should also apply to private businesses and operations like Bingo Halls.

The proposed change is still being discussed in committee.

Once it reaches the full Council, the general public is invited to speak out for or against it.
