Just weeks after his grandson's killer was convicted, Bobby Mullins passed away at the age of 58. Mullins died Sunday at his home in Clay City after a long battle with cancer. Less than one month before his death, he testified at his former roommate's murder trial. Lewis 'Buck' Ballard shared a home with Bobby Mullins in Bourbon County. In August of 2007, Bobby Mullins found his grandson, 6 year old Wesley Mullins' lifeless body in his garage. Ballard was convicted in October for the murder and sodomy of Wesley Mullins. A jury has recommended life in prison. Ballard is expected to be formally sentenced in January. Memorial Services will be conducted at the College Park Library, Friday, November 20th at 5:00pm.
