Snow showers this afternoon

A strong artic cold front will push through the Bluegrass today bringing colder air and a chance of snow showers in later this afternoon and into Thrusday morning.  This storm will produce widespread snow showers this afternoon with accumulations and inch or less in Central Kentucky and about 1-2 inches in Eastern KY by the morning. Evening commute home on Wednesday and morning commute Thursday will be affected.  Colder temperatures and windy conditions will be the story for Thursday afternoon with high temperatures in the low 30s and wind chills in the 20s.  A few left over snow showers and flurries will continue in extreme Eastern KY, elevations higher than 2000 feet, through the weekend making snow totals higher on the ridgetops. 

Wednesday: Overcast with snow showers likely this afternoon. High 33. Winds out of the northwest at 5-15 mph. Snow chance 60%.

Wednesday Night: Cloudy with snow showers. Accumulations up to 1 inch in CKY and 1-2 inches in EKY. Low 20. Winds out of the west at 5-15 mph. Snow chance 60%.

Thursday: Clouds decreasing with showers pushing east during the afternoon with windy conditions.  High 31. Winds out of the northwest at 10-20 mph.  Snow chance 40%.

Friday: Mix of sun and clouds with 20% chance of flurries in EKY. Temps in the mid 30s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with some flurries in extreme SEKY. Temps in the upper 30s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and warmer. Temps in the low 40s. 

Monday: Mostly sunny with temps in the low 40s.

Tuesday: Sun & clouds with some showers. Highs in the low 40s.
