More Time Given to Gambling Site Owners

Lawyers for online casinos have seven days to respond to a move by the state
that would block gambling Web sites in the state.
Franklin County Circuit Judge Thomas Wingate told the lawyers he wants them to submit briefs before he holds another hearing in the case.
Governor Steve Beshear asked a judge to cut off access to 141 gambling Web sites by giving Kentucky control of the domain names.
He is also asking that online casino operators pay financial damages for lost revenue.
Online gambling advocates say they're stunned by the governor's move, especially since he based his election campaign last year on a promise to open casinos in Kentucky,
"This action by the governor isn't something that's going to be taken lightly by our membership," says John Pappas, executive director for the Poker Players Alliance. "They viewed the governor as pro-gambling, and our members helped support him in the election just last year. They view this as betrayal."
Some online casino operators already have begun blocking access to Kentuckians in response to the lawsuit

I think each person is responsible for his or her own decisions and government shouldn't get involved with personal decisions such as this.

I find it hard to understand why our elected officials worry so much about what the "little people" might be doing rather than spending their time and thoughts on what the "higher ups" are doing illegal adn wrong, but just overlooked or bailed out as long as no serious crimes are being permitted. Why not spend their time on the murderers and child abusers, and robbers? But this of this nature aren't as important as afew dollars their afraid they won't get their hands on.
