Fog Early, Then Partly Sunny

Geoff CornishWe're having a foggy start to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, but things will improve with time.  Temperatures are near the freezing mark in Lexington and Frankfort, early today, with slightly milder air across southern Kentucky and the low elevations of eastern Kentucky.  Patchy black ice may form on a few surfaces, mainly northwest of Lexington, but before long, temperatures will rise and the fog will vanish.

The daytime hours should be nice with decreasing clouds and a high near 48 degrees.

Tonight will be fairly mild, too, with lows near 35 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.  Patchy fog may form in a few locations, but it shouldn't be nearly as widespread as it was this Monday morning.

On Tuesday, a cold front will slide in from the north and weaken overhead.  We'll see a stray shower in a few spots, but many will stay dry.  Highs will be near 47.

A more widespread rain will overspread the region on Wednesday afternoon.  It will still be mild under mostly cloudy skies.  Highs will be near 47.

Rain and clouds will continue through Thursday and into Friday as the slow moving storm drifts east.  Highs will be near 45 degrees on Thursday and 46 on Friday.

Saturday should be a bit brighter and milder with a high near 51.

On Saturday night, showers will again become possible as the next storm system in the active weather pattern approaches.  Rain will become more likely under cloudier skies on Sunday.  Highs will remain near 51 as we round out the weekend.
