A Kentucky State Police trooper is recovering after an accident in Laurel County that left a woman critically injured.
Police say Trooper Parrish Baker was on his way to an accident on the Hal Rogers Parkway, with his lights and sirens on, when he collided with a car driven by 26-year-old Curtis Angel, at the intersection of Kentucky 30.
Trooper Baker, a 19-year veteran of the State Police, was treated for a broken hand.
Angel's wife, 24-year-old Ashley Angel, who was a passenger in his car, was taken to the UK Chandler Hospital where she is in critical condition.
No word on her husband's condition.
The accident remains under investigation.
