Snow Returns Late Friday Night

Winter Weather Advisories have been issued again for portions of Kentucky as rain will once again switch over to accumulating snow for some.
Update: A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from Friday evening through Saturday evening for much of north central Kentucky including Lexington and Frankfort. Hazardous travel conditions will be possible during these times.

Temperatures are slowly climbing with the help of a few breaks in the cloud cover and light southerly winds early this afternoon. Lexington is at 32° at the noon hour, but many surrounding areas are well into the mid and upper 30s. It still looks like many areas could see up to 1-2" of snow on the ground by Saturday morning with some small aditional snow falling through Saturday night. Areas further south of the Bluegrass are likely to see more rain than snow.

Late tonight, the rain will begin to switch over to snow in our northern counties. South of the Bluegrass, precipitation will stay mastly as rain with little accumulation of snow. By morning, the Bluegrass, northern Kentucky, and eastern Kentuckyc ould see an inch to two inches of snow on the ground. Temperatures will be in the low 30s.

Saturday afternoon will bring a few more scattered snow showers with some extra snow on the ground in eastern Kentucky. Other areas will be mostly cloudy with afternoon high temps in the mid 30s.
