Visitation Held For William Tyler Hicks

The former Scott County basketball standout died on Friday from injuries sustained in a car crash earlier in the week.
Hundreds showed up for the visitation of William Tyler Hicks, the son of Scott County Basketball coach Billy Hicks, who died from injuries sustained in a car accident earlier in the week.

Hicks died on Friday after being in a one-car accident on the Bluegrass Parkway Tuesday while returning to Fort Knox where Hicks was stationed.

The 27-year old was also a first lieutenant in the Army.

The 2004 graduate of Scott County was the point guard on his dad's team, helping the Cardinals reach the Final Four State Championship his senior year.

Those that knew Hicks well say he was a tremendous role model to kids in the Scott County Community, and was a tough, hard-working basketball player.

A memorial will be held at Scott County High School on Monday at 6pm in the gymnasium
