Police say two related car crashes on Greendale Road in Lexington left one person dead and six injured, including four children.

The Fayette County Coroner said 63-year-old Tommy Huff died after a hit-and-run Thursday night.

At 5:45pm, Police said Huff was driving a pick-up truck when he hit a Mustang at Greendale and Mercer Roads.

The Mustang was then pushed into the path of an oncoming FedEx tractor trailer. The Mustang’s driver was hurt and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The FedEx driver was not hurt.

Police said Huff took off and continued on Greendale.

They said he was about 100 yards away from the first crash scene, when he hit a Dodge Magnum.

The coroner said Huff died in that crash from multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Police said an adult and four children were in the Dodge and were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

They said speed was a factor in the crashes and will continue to investigate.

Huff's funeral arrangements are pending.
