Update: Victim Of Deadly Gas Station Crash Identified

The Madison County Coroner said Sara Fuller Rivenburg, 27, of Berea, died when she crashed her car into some gas pumps at a Shell station on Battlefield Memorial Highway.
The Madison County Coroner identified a woman who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said Sara Fuller Rivenburg, 27, of Berea, died of blunt force trauma to her head and chest.

Investigators said Rivenburg was likely speeding when she lost control of her vehicle in a curve around 1:30 a.m. on Battlefield Memorial Highway just outside of Berea.

Investigators said the car went off the road, flipped and crashed into three gas pumps at the Kingston Shell Mart.

Investigators said Rivenburg was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said Rivenburg worked at Boone Tavern.

The collision with the gas pumps caused a gas leak.

The gas station remained open, but the gas pumps were shut off, awaiting inspection from the State Fire Marshall.

Investigators said the accident is still under investigation, including awaiting toxicology results on Rivenburg and checking surveillance video from the gas station, which may help determine exactly what happened.
