Police in Woodford County said they arrested two brothers Thursday night in connection to an animal abuse case.

Woodford County Animal Control investigators said Wayne and Duane Murty are accused of keeping around 30-horses on a section of Hopewell Farm in Woodford County that were malnourished.

Investigators said two of the horses were found in such bad shape that they had to be euthanized.

Animal Control officers said the Kentucky Department of Agriculture is part of the ongoing investigation.

The Murty brothers were lodged in the Woodford County Detention Center.
