Fayette County School Bus Monitor Doris Baker remained in 'Serious' condition Tuesday, according to a spokesperson at U.K. Hospital.

Lexington Police said Baker was injured Monday afternoon on Todds Road when the driver of a car side-swiped the school bus she was on, causing the bus driver to lose control and crash.

A spokeswoman for Fayette County Public Schools said there were special needs students from Edithe J. Hayes Middle School on the bus at the time of the accident.

One of the children was taken by their parents from the scene to the hospital to be checked out.  Reportedly the child was not seriously injured.

Police said the driver of the car that reportedly side-swiped the school bus also went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The school bus driver was not injured.
