A spokeswoman for Fayette County Public School told ABC 36 News Monday evening that one special needs student and two adults were taken to the hospital following a school bus accident Monday afternoon.
Initial reports from the scene said two special needs students had been injured. Monday evening, the District spokeswoman said it was just one child, who was taken to the hospital by their parents.
The School District said the child is a student at Edith J. Hayes Middle School.
Lexington Police said the bus monitor was taken to the hospital by ambulance along with the driver of a Toyota Camry.
No names were released.
Police said the driver of the Camry lost control along Todds Road near Kavenaugh Lane, side-swiped the school bus, causing the bus driver to lose control and crash.
Police described all of the injuries as minor.
A stretch of Todds Road was closed for a time during the afternoon rush hour.
