State Police said two people died in a car crash in Bath County on I-64 at exit 119.

Troopers said it happened around 2:20 a.m.

According to police, Morgan Hopkins, 23, was driving a Toyota Solara in the eastbound lane.

They said she dropped off the right shoulder and then overcorrected; her car hit the median and flipped into the westbound lane.

Police said that’s when James Weaver, 77, was driving by in his Chevy pickup in the westbound lane and was hit by the flipping vehicle.

They said Hopkins was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from her car.

The coroner said both drivers were dead at the scene.

Police said there were not any passengers in either vehicle. They do not suspect either driver to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The accident is still under investigation.
