Fire officials are investigating why ahome in Winchester burst into flames overnight.

"I [saw] the building was on fire, and saw flames," says neighbor Chris Tawney.

Fire officials say the home on the 200 block of Winn Avenue was "heavily engulfed" in flames when they first arrived on the scene. According to fire officials on the scene,  The Winchester Fire and EMS Department requested  additional assistance and resources from the Clark County Fire Department.

According to Winchester Fire & EMS Battalion Chief Bryon Schrobel, firefighters were able to suppress the heavy volume of fire quickly.

Local neighbors tell ABC 36 that the home had been abandoned and boarded up for about two years.

"It appears to be suspicious at this time," Schrobelsays. "It is under investigation."
