A late-night crash in Richmond injured a Kentucky State Police trooper Tuesday.

The crash happened around 11:00 p.m. on Barnes Mill Road, near the I-75 ramp.

State Police said the driver of an SUV caused the two-car collision that involved one of their own troopers.

The trooper suffered a minor injury to his hand but was otherwise OK.

Barnes Mill Road was shut down for nearly an hour while crews got the area cleaned up.

Troopers said wet roads likely played a factor in the crash.

No charges are expected.
