Severe Storms Possible Sunday

A Wind Advisory has been issued for the entire area starting at 11 am Sunday and continuing through Sunday night. Winds could gust has high as 40mph during this time making for hazardous travel.

Winds will be picking up Saturday night as temperatures fall into the mid 50s by Sunday morning. Our first round of showers and storms will arrive in the early morning hours. These storms should remain below severe levels, but could produce some strong winds.

We will see a break from a lot of the rain and storms during the afternoon. We will stay windy with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures nearing 70°.

The second round of storms will arrive Sunday evening, pushing from west to east through Kentucky. These storms are likely to reach severe levels. The main threat will be damaging winds and heavy rain, but hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

By 2 a.m. Monday, the line of storms should be out of Kentucky.

Skies will clear for Monday with lighter winds and cooler conditions. Afternoon highs will only be in the low 50s.
