Georgetown Police say this man, 66-year-old Edwin Casper, was working as a substitute teacher Friday at Royal Spring Middle School when he sexually abused two students.

"We were contacted by the principal at Royal Springs Middle School.  They had received a complaint from several students that there was apparently two incidents of inappropriate touching on two female students by a substitute teacher who was working at the school at the time," says Lt. Robert Swanigan of the Georgetown Police Department.

Casper was arrested at his Shelby County home over the weekend and charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 16.  Police say this investigation isn't over yet.

"We're still early in out investigation.  We're going to continue with our investigation.  If there are other victims or other witnesses that might have information about this, we'd love to hear them obviously," explains Lt. Swanigan.

Scott County Schools Superintendent Patricia Putty tells ABC 36 that Casper was hired as a district substitute teacher in March 2011 and has worked at other schools in the district besides Royal Spring Middle School.  She says that he, like all other district employees, had to complete an FBI criminal background check before being hired.

The superintendent released a statement Monday, saying "I can assure parents that this substitute will no longer be working in the Scott County School District nor allowed on any school property."

She says a note wasn't sent home with parents but school administrators met with the students and parents involved.

Casper is out of jail on a $5,000 bond.
