Bill Hammons, 59, of Richmond, got the surprise of his life Saturday night when he watched the Cash Ball lottery drawing on television and realized he had won $200,000.

"My stomach was tied up in knots.  I thought I was dreaming, waiting for someone to pinch me, but it's for real," Hammons said.

Hammons chose his own numbers on his ticket, but he said there wasn't any significance with the numbers he picked for his line.

Hammons bought his winning ticket at Redi Mart #17 in Richmond.

After leaving lottery headquarters with a check for $138,000 after taxes, Hammons said he planned to pay off debt and build on his retirement.
