After a rash of violent crimes in Lexington, prosecutors and police are asking the community for help in solving the cases.

The Police Department said it moved six officers to Robbery- Homicide Department to help with the investigations.

Police said that between last Monday and Tuesday, six people were shot in three separate incidents.

Investigators said someone shot a man Monday morning on Georgetown Street.

Later that evening, police said four women were shot on Scottsdale Circle.

According to the Coroner, Kierra Green, 18, was killed.

Police later identified a suspect in a Tuesday morning shooting on Cambridge Drive.

Officers were searching for Daniel Martinez.

And in all of the cases, investigators said community tips and concerned neighbors can help them solve crimes.

Victims sometimes refuse to cooperate with police.

Officers said the man shot on Georgetown Street would not cooperate with the investigation.

If you have information on any of the cases, Fayette Commonwealth's Attorney Ray Larson explained why you should come forward.

"If they don't, then the same crap is going to continue to happen.  People that live in high crime neighborhoods they're going to have to man up.  If they want their neighborhood to be safe, then they gotta do their part! Citizen involvement is critical," said Larson.

Larson said anyone who tried to intimidate a witness in case would be prosecuted.

Lexington Police can be reached at 859- 258-3600.
