The sheriff's department was called to help settle a "major disturbance" at a Laurel County motel.

Deputies say they were called to the Fairfield Inn Saturday where they found a nude woman in the outdoor picnic area ripping the screens from the poolside windows.

They say when they told the woman, Christina Sloan, to stop or she would be tazed, she jumped into the pool where she began floating on her back, unresponsive.

Deputies say they pulled Sloan from the water and sent her to the hospital.

Witnesses say earlier in the day she left a hot iron on some plastic in her room which led to a small fire and that she had thrown all of the tables, chairs, artificial trees, and other items into the pool.

Investigators say there were was no outward evidence to suggest she had used drugs or alcohol that day.
