Police Investigate Lexington Shooting, Stabbing

Lexington police said a stabbing and a shooting, though unconnected, happened back-to-back Sunday night. They said there's not much to work with in either case.
Lexington police said there's not much to go on after a stabbing and a shooting occurred within an hour of each other in Lexington Sunday night.

Police said they were first called to Florence Avenue around 9:50 p.m. for a report of 'shots fired'. When they arrived, they said they couldn't find anything.

Ten minutes later, officers were dispatched to Samaritan Hospital--a man with a gunshot wound to his face and jaw told police he was visiting his girlfriend on Florence Avenue when he was shot by an unknown suspect.

An hour later--around 11 p.m.--on Winchester Road, cops were called to the scene of a stabbing.

The manager of a nightclub told police a fight had broken out in the bathroom, and that someone had a very serious cut to their stomach that was bleeding badly.

The manager also told police that someone was holding a large knife.

The victim and all suspects fled the scene.

At around 1 a.m., police said the victim of the stabbing walked into St. Joseph Hospital to be treated for the non-life threatening injury to his stomach.

Police said he, much like the shooting victim, could not give any suspect descriptions.

Officers said there's not much to go on in either situation. There are no suspects at this time.
