We now know the name of a man whose body was found earlier this month in a lake near Richmond Road in Lexington.

He was Michael Sanderson.

Authorities recovered his body in shallow water April 6th near the shore of the Lake Ellerslie Fishing Club.

Valerie Handerson is with Lighthouse Ministries.

Says Sanderson was a familiar face there.

Lighthouse Ministries is an organization that exists to help those in need, including Sanderson.

"He just fit in. Everybody loved him," says Handerson.

Sanderson, who was homeless, became the face of the group.

His image is plastered on ministry vans.

Handerson says his story will continue to live on through the organization.

She says, "He has a face, a beautiful face."

No word yet on how Sanderson died.

The Fayette County Coroner says his body had been in the lake since summer.
