Julius Mays is no stranger to new places.
He spent his first two years playing collegiate basketball at North Carolina State.
His junior season was spent at Wright State.
Over the past three years, Mays averaged 8 points per game.
So what's he doing in Lexington with just one year of eligibility remaining?
Cal and company have to like his shooting appeal. Mays hit close to 43 percent of his shots behind the arc last season.
But there's a few special connections to UK you may not know.
Mays has lived in Middlesboro, Ky. and was even coached by former Cat Marquis Teague's father at one time.
Check out the video for a brief bio from Mays and watch ABC 36 News at 11 for much more on the transfer!
