Rick Newton spent his afternoon pulling a cross through portions of central Kentucky today, including Lexington and Winchester.
He travels across the county sharing God's message of love and forgiveness, and says he was called to come to Kentucky.
Newton has been traveling with a cross for the last 38 years. His destinations have included Jerusalem, the Soviet Union, El Salvador, and Egypt.
He said, "God put on my hear in 1975, I began carrying the cross. That's my mission, to tell people and remind people just how much God loves them. And the cross is the greatest testimony there is of God's love."
After spending another week in Kentucky, Newton plans on heading to Massachusetts next. He plans to walk across the entire state.
