A Lexington man suffered a serious head injury following a violent robbery in front of his home.
According to police, the man returned home from work at 12:45 a.m. Monday and was walking up his driveway when two men wearing black masks and carrying bats appeared.
Police said they hit the victim in the head with a bat and took his backpack and cell phone and ran off.
The victim's wife, who was inside the home with their children at the time, called police.
He was taken to the hospital but his injury does not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.
Police blocked off streets around the area, hoping to find the suspects but could not locate them.
