Police: Lexington Couple Shot During Attempted Burglary

Police say a Lexington couple was shot Thursday night during an attempted burglary.

Officers say it happened around 6:15 at a home on Mirahill Drive.

According to police, the couple had invited friends over.

Police say two men followed the friends into the house.

Officers say the husband was shot in the leg and his wife was shot in the chest.

Police say one of them returned fire and shot one of the burglars.

Officers are looking for the two suspects.

They say one of them showed up at St. Joseph East Hospital for treatment but then left.

No word yet on the condition of the husband and wife.
