The lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community says they have a special reason to celebrate this year at the annual pride festival.

Organizers say this week was crucial in advancing gay rights in America.

The entertainment went on all day as thousands of people packed downtown.

More than 100 booths were set up including one for free HIV testing.

Celebrants say Lexington is a very welcoming environment to the LGBT community and that they've come a long way, but still have a long way to go.
