A Jackson, Kentucky woman was indicted by a federal grand jury on Thursday for stealing someone's identity to buy a car in Lexington.
The indictment charged Lisa Ann Salyers, 44, of Jackson, with two counts of wire fraud and two counts of aggravated identity theft.
According to the indictment, Salyers obtained the victim's date of birth and social security number.
The indictment states that last fall, Salyers used someone else's personal information to apply for credit at a car dealership and a furniture store.
Prosecutors said Salyers purchased an automobile and attempted to buy furniture with the victim's identifying information.
A date for Salyers to appear in court has not yet been scheduled.
