The Laurel County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in trying to find a "shoplifting gang" that has been hitting area discount stores.

Investigators said a woman, two teenage boys and two young children have been shoplifting large amounts of diapers, baby formula and other items from area Dollar General and Walmart stores.

Investigators think the thieves are re-selling the stolen items.

Investigators said one of the most recent thefts was caught on video surveillance at a Dollar store on KY 229 south of London.

Investigators said the suspect vehicle is a maroon Mercury Mountaineer with a Kentucky tag of 613 BEM.

Investigators said they are looking for Cynthia Boone to bring in for questioning.

Anyone with information on Boone or these shoplifting cases is asked to call the Laurel County Sheriff's Office at 606-864-6600 or 606-878-7000.

Callers can remain anonymous.
