Ice Sculptures Parallel Weather In Lexington

Several ice sculptures were seen outside businesses around downtown Lexington Thursday, going along with the cold weather felt in the city.
Ice sculptures showed up in front of several Lexington businesses Thursday morning.

"We kinda wanted to do sort of a flash mob...but a little less dancing and a lot more ice," said Kaelyn Query, who works in sales and marketing for Lexington Ice Sculpting.

The sculpting company put them there to promote their business. Because of the cold weather, they stayed all day.

"Today, they're not doing much melting. In a June wedding, outside...they're gonna melt half an inch an hour," said Query.

People walking throughout Lexington saw the sculptures as they hurried toward destinations, gloves on hands and scarves covering necks.

Most people dreamed of warmer weather.

"Hopefully, next week it will be sunny...since it changes so quickly, you don't even notice," said one passerby.
