After Friday's tragedy at a Texas Six Flags Amusement Park, many are wondering how safe roller coasters really are, especially those at carnivals and fairs that are constantly taken down, moved and put back up.

Bell City Amusement, who owns and operates the rides that come to the Bluegrass Fair, say their rides have a track record as some of the safest in the nation.

They say any ride that comes through Kentucky is not only checked by the company, but also the company's insurance and also the State.

They say many companies are checking and double checking their rides throughout the summer and in the off season as well.

According to an international journal on injury prevention, on average four people die in the US from roller coaster accidents each year.
