A Northside Lexington neighborhood remains shocked.  Police say a street fight turned into a gun fight, and teenagers packed more than handguns.

Neighbors say the fight started in a field on Carlisle Ave.  They say a group of about 10-12 kids started fighting, and pretty soon they pulled out guns.

"5,6,8 rounds that were shot off," said a witness.

Everybody in the neighborhood is talking about it, but people were scared to speak on-camera.  One witness agreed as long as we wouldn't show her face, or use her name.

Our witness says she feared for her life.

"One of the younger boys pulled out a pistol, and shot a round off in the air.  A minute later, another boy pulled out a much larger weapon," said the witness.

Police say the teen had an AR-15.  It's a military style assault rifle that can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger.

With such a high powered gun on the street, police scoured the area.  They arrested and charged 5 juveniles.

"We've also linked them to 6 burglaries throughout the city," said Lt. Raymond Roller, Lexington Police.

Police say the teens range from 14-17.  Police say they stole the guns.

"These weapons were taken during burglaries," said Lt. Roller.

Neighbors admit they don't live on the safest street, and they say things are getting worse.

"You hear a lot of shouting from the teenagers, but it's never gun fire," said our witness.

Police can't tell us the names of the teens they arrested, but they say it's not the first time they deal with this group of juveniles before.
