One man was taken to the hospital after gunshots rang out in the 400 block of Chestnut Street.

“I'm real fearful for the kids that's why they're not outside too much during the evening hours.  During the daytime hours if they want to come out they'll come out but usually their playing their PS3 or doing something in the house but I'm real fearful.  Not just for my kids, the kids in the neighborhood, we have several kids in the neighborhood,” said Elontene Banks who usually feels safe living on Chestnut Street.

The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

No word yet on why the shots were fired.
