Georgetown Police Chief Fired

ABC 36 News has learned that Georgetown Police Chief Greg Reeves was fired Thursday. 

The reason has not been made public. 

No interim chief has been named yet. 

Reeves is a Lexington native and graduate of Bryan Station High School.  He joined the Georgetown Police Department in 1984 as a patrol officer.  He worked his way up to Detective, Lieutenant, Assistant Chief and eventually Chief in March of 2004.

More information is expected to be released by the city on Friday.
