A coach's son badly injured in a crash this week has died.

Tyler Hicks was the 27-year-old son of Scott County Basketball Coach Billy Hicks.

He was hurt in a crash Tuesday in Mercer County, along the Bluegrass Parkway.

Hicks was an Army Soldier driving back to Fort Knox when it happened.

The Fayette County Coroner says he died Friday morning at UK Hospital.

Hicks played for his dad as a Cardinal in 2004 when the team made it to the Final Four of the Sweet Sixteen.

Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home in Georgetown says a visitation is set for this Sunday from 4:00pm- 8:00pm at the Scott County High School Gymnasium.

The funeral will also be held at the gym Monday night at 6:00pm.
