The Eddie Montgomery Steakhouse in Harrodsburg, Kentucky closed its doors for good Sunday night...but some employees said they didn't find out until it was posted on Facebook.

The owner of the establishment, Tracy Nunan--the ex-wife of the restaurant's namesake, Eddie Montgomery--posted a notice on Facebook around 11 p.m.

It said:

"It's is with the utmost regreat to announce the closing of Eddie Montgomery Steakhouse on Sunday, May 5, 2013. I'm sincerely sorry to all our employees. You all have supported EMS through this long difficult battle and even though it seems we've lost, we must look for our blessings. I'm grateful for all the hard work you've done and will cherish all the memories made. I pray that everyone finds a new path and your journey is successful. I thank you all for your dedication and apologize for the lack of notice and ask for your understanding, as this was not within my control.

Tracy Nunan
Co-Owner"

Underneath, a commentor asked for prayers for the employees, whom she said, "Were so thoughtlessly let go without notice."

The Facebook page has since been taken down.

It was about three years ago that the restaurant first opened. Before the red carpet event, the country singer and his then-wife led ABC-36's own Tom Kenny on a tour through what Montgomery then called a dream of his.

"I want everybody to leave here going like, oh, I'm stuffed. Can't eat another bite and man, I've absolutely had a blast," he said in the 2009 interview.

Now, his dream has a sign on the window saying it is 'no longer open for business'.

As of this writing, there's no word on why the restaurant closed.

Mercer County Sheriff's deputies said they were called by the owner to escort her out of the building at the end of the day, just in case.
