Misdemeanor drug charges against Nick Bertram, a deputy sheriff in Russell County, have been dismissed.

State police arrested Bertram on January 4th after investigating a burglary they say happened in Russell Springs.

Troopers say they found a neutralized meth lab at the scene and several more at Bertram's house which they thought may be evidence from a separate investigation the Russell County Sheriff's Department was conducting.

They also say they found an another meth lab, other drug-related items, and tools they believed were used in the burglary at Bertram's home.

Bertram was charged with Burglary, Official Misconduct,Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Detectives will present their findings to a grand jury later this month to determine if he will be officially accused of the felony charges.
