Dozens of new laws went into effect Thursday here in Kentucky.

Everything from how much cold medicine you can buy over the counter to a crack down on copper thieves and feral hogs.

The most debated bill was the one aimed at reducing makeshift meth labs.

The law decreases how much over-the-counter cold pills you can buy if the medicine includes pseudoephedrine.

That's the key ingredient used to make meth.

There's a new law dealing with coal miners who fail drug or alcohol tests.

You can now carry a concealed weapon on your own property without a license.

Private for profit colleges will face a stiffer regulatory eye.

Our seat belt law has been expanded to cover vans that carry 11 to 15 people.

There are even stiffer penalties on those who release feral hogs into the wild.
