Lexington firefighters were busy Friday morning battling back-to-back fires in the city.
The first one broke out at 1:15 a.m. at Ohio Terrace.
A woman, her 8-year-old son and a man made it out of the home.
However, firefighters said the man suffered burns and had to be taken to the hospital.
 The home is a loss.
Firefighters were then called to a vacant home on Eddie Street.
When they arrived they said there were smoke and flames visible from the back of the home but they were able to quickly knock it down.
Fire investigators are looking into both fires.
