A couple from Ghent, Kentucky, is accused of murdering their two-year-old son by giving him high levels of Oxycodone.

Indictments against Douglas Allen, 26, and his girlfriend Amanda Foster, 28, were issued Monday by a Carroll County Grand Jury.

The case stems from the alleged incident that occurred the morning of February 19, when Foster reportedly called 911 and alerted dispatchers that her son was dead in his bed.

A toxicology report showed the toddler had extremely high levels of Oxycodone in his system when he died.

An interview with Allen led detectives to believe he had given his son a narcotic the night before, reportedly leading to the child's death.

Allen and Foster have both been charged of murder, three counts of criminal abuse, two counts of giving a controlled substance to a minor, tampering with physical evidence, and two counts of trafficking a controlled substance.

50-year-old Paul Byers, also from Ghent, was charged with tampering with physical evidence and two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance in connection with the case.
