The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation released its annual 2013 County Health Rankings Wednesday morning.

Researchers found that Oldham County is the healthiest county in Kentucky, followed by Boone and Shelby Counties. Fayette County ranked 8th in the state. Researchers found that Floyd County was the least healthy in Kentucky, taking 120th place.

Researchers examine the health and well-being of people living in nearly every county in the United States and show that how long and well people live depends on multiple factors beyond just their access to medical care.

Rates of childhood poverty, rates of smoking, obesity levels, access to physicians and dentists, rates of high school graduation and college, access to healthy foods and levels of physical activity are among the 25 factors that influence health examined.
