We're learning more about the two Lancaster men who were reportedly killed by lightning in Madison County.

Investigators say 25-year old Scotty Elam, Junior and 29-year old Bobby Lee Maggard died Wednesday afternoon when a tobacco barn was struck.

It happened on Wilmot Farm on Oscar Ray Road in the Buckeye area.

Garrard County Coroner Daryl Hodge says four other men were also hanging tobacco in the barn when it was struck.

Hodge tells ABC 36 that Elam and Maggard were on the upper rails of the barn at the time.

He believes the men were in contact with each other at the time, which resulted in both of them getting shocked.

According to Hodge, three others were injured, but only one of the men went to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A sixth man also in the barn was not hurt.

Autopsies will be performed Thursday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort.

Preliminary results are expected Thursday afternoon.
