A Lexington cell phone tower was hit by a copper thief Wednesday.
Police said they received a call about an alarm at the AT&T cell phone tower at 333 Waller Avenue just after 2 a.m.
Officers searched the area and said they found 80 pounds of cut copper in a bag and some burglary tools that someone dropped.
