A 13-year-old who gained national fame as he battled a rare form of childhood cancer died Wednesday.
Lane Goodwin inspired thousands with his incredible, optimistic attitude and a simple "thumbs up."
He started a foundation, "Thumbs Up for Lane" and for months, celebrities across the country have been tweeting him pictures, giving Lane a "thumbs up."

God be with his family and friends. My mother is in her final hours of life due to pancreatic cancer. I feel so alone and my heart is just in two pieces. This article lets me know that I'm blessed to have two healthy, beautiful children and that life can be worse than I'm facing. God knows best, although it's hard for us to understand sometimes. Love and hugs to this child's family.
