An attorney for Alex Johnson's family wonders if police did everything they could to keep Alex Johnson alive.

Johnson disappeared on December 20th.  Police arrested two men in connection to his murder.  About a month later, police found Johnson's body stuffed into a barrel in the Kentucky River.

Attorney Mark Wohlander says two witnesses called 911 to report Alex Johnson's abduction while it was happening.

Wohlander says police never interviewed the witnesses.  Wohlander believes something failed the night of Johnson's murder.  He says he will sue to to find out if the police acted negligibly.

Wohlander says Johnson's parents are struggling with their loss.

"They don't want Alex's memory to be they could've saved him, and they didn't, and that's hanging out there," said Wohlander.

Wohlander says Johnson's parents cannot rest in peace if they don't know police did everything they could.

We spoke to police about this, and they are not commenting at this time.

Wohlander says he will also sue the two men accused of killing Alex Johnson.  Robert Markham Taylor and Timothy Ballard have status hearings in about three weeks.
