Lexington police make an arrest in a violent attack involving a hammer.
Derrick Quarles, 21, is accused of beating a man with a hammer at an apartment off State Street back on June 21st.
According to court documents, Quarles and another suspect broke into the apartment and hit one man on the face and head with a hammer and put another man in a choke hold.
They took off after taking items from the apartment.
Documents said Quarles was tracked down because his iPhone and keys fell into some couch cushions in the apartment during the attack.
