Amanda Stevenson first joined ABC 36 in October 2011 as a weekend editor. After trying out everything from shooting video to writing, she made her way up to Assignment Manager, then finally to her current position of Reporter.

Amanda graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting. There, she was News Director for the student-run TV station, GVTV, and created its first televised news program. While in college, Amanda worked and interned for multiple media platforms—her school’s newspaper, The Lanthorn; a Clear Channel station, WSNX; the NBC news affiliate in Indianapolis, WTHR; and the Fox news affiliate in Grand Rapids, WXMI.

Originally from Eastpointe, Michigan—a small suburb just north of Detroit—she moved to Lexington last year after spending most of her life in the mitten state. Her love of news began in high school, where she was president of the broadcasting club—her teacher encouraged her to continue in the field, so she never stopped.

Amanda spends a lot of her free time reading, catching up on her Netflix instant queue, and baking/decorating cupcakes. She’s also an avid lover of Red Wings hockey, but now proudly calls herself a UK basketball fan as well!

Amanda would love to hear from viewers! She can be reached at astevenson@wtvq.com
