Almost $200,000 dollars of marijuana plants were found and destroyed throughout Madison County Thursday, the Sheriff's Department said.

According to the Madison County Sheriff's Department, deputies and Kentucky State Troopers used a helicopter to find the plants in remote locations throughout the county.

Deputies and Troopers then used one of the Sheriff’s Departments Military HMVEE’s to access the fields and cut down the plants.

The Sheriff's Office said that one citation was issued and other arrests are pending in connection to the case.
